The Florida Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) is funded by a major grant from the National Institute on Aging to the University of South Florida. Its mission is to study the natural course of memory problems in the elderly. The Center is a Florida-wide collaboration between the USF, the Byrd Alzheimer's Institute, and numerous other organizations throughout Florida.
To accomplish the goals of the Center, the Florida ADRC is inviting the following individuals to participate in the study:
Participants must be between 65-90 years old and come to the study site once every year for the next three to four years. At each visit they will be given
If at all possible, participants are asked to bring a study partner who knows the person well and can answer questions about the person's health and memory.
There is no charge for participation in this study. Participants will be reimbursed for their time and travel to be in the study. This is not a treatment study, and will not interfere with or substitute for, the care already being received by the individual's personal physician.
